I-594 is scattershot

The Spokesman-Review’s Oct. 16 editorial in support of Initiative 594 glosses over the excesses of this initiative. Fear over arrests from violation of the transfer rule is labeled as a red herring. The red herring comes from those who drafted the initiative.

If concerns over violation of the transfer rules are so remote and improbable, why are the provisions included within the initiative? Should we have laws that there is no intention to enforce?

I-594 is poorly drafted and goes well beyond the stated intentions. Provisions are overly restrictive for otherwise law-abiding citizens. Read the entire initiative before voting.
