Regarding the April 8 article regarding Indian Canyon Golf Course and the head pro, Gary Lindeblad: Gary is one of the most dedicated and passionate club pros I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I don’t profess to know about running a city golf course, but the city of Spokane and the Parks Department should be ashamed of what they let happen over the past 20 years at Indian Canyon.

Once recognized as one of the top public golf courses, it is in very rough shape. Tourists used to come from all over to play the Canyon. Would we allow this to happen to Manito Park?

Spokane County took a different path and invested millions to enhance its three courses. They are maintained at a high level, ensuring a bright future, and the return on the county’s investment will continue to be huge.

As a business owner, my gut tells me that Gary has personally lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, due in fact, to the poor conditions of the course, the restaurant and the driving range. Let’s reinvest in Indian Canyon and treat him with the dignity he has earned.
