Abortion does kill

Gary Crooks (July 26) criticized the makers of the video about Planned Parenthood’s purported practice of profiting by the sale of aborted children’s body parts. Certainly it is reprehensible when deceptive editing is used by people to make their point (if that is indeed the case).

It makes one shudder, however, to read the following quote (in Crooks’ article) defending against the accusations brought by those who made video: “There’s no way there’s a profit at that price.”

There is a much greater issue at hand than the detailed accuracy of the video: Unborn children continue to be murdered daily in our nation. Advocates for allowing abortions do not understand the passion of those who are anti-abortion. That is because they do not understand or believe that children are being murdered.

Yet even Faye Wattleton, longtime president of Planned Parenthood, stated (in a Ms. magazine interview): “I think we have deluded ourselves into believing that people don’t know that abortion is killing … yes, it kills a fetus.”

Let us use our voices to condemn atrocities against the innocent, rather than criticizing those who wish to end such violence.
