Remember the fallen
Memorial Day, not just a day off from work, a no mail delivery day, or a family camp-out. It is a day to remember those who have served our country with heroism and honor. To all of the fallen I remember: I honor and I love them for protecting our freedom.
I remember almost four years ago, when we received the sad news of our son-in-law, Nathan Beyers. Our hearts were broken into a million pieces as we heard how his Humvee was attacked just a few meters from the safety of his base.
Today, and every day, we remember him and his fallen comrade, Nick Newby. We remember our daughter Laura’s friend Jarrod Lallier, and we give thanks for his service and sacrifice.
We remember, we remain grateful, and we will never forget the fallen.
