In response to Carol Johns’ letter (“Clinton hubbub overblown,” Sept. 26): Her platitudes for the teaching of critical thinking is contradicted when she becomes an apologist for Hillary Clinton.

HRC’s problems with emails are of her making. She did things that no other secretary of state has done. It was all recorded in the FBI report. Besides lying about her emails, she lied to the U.S. citizens regarding the attack on Benghazi. She did all this of her own volition.

Does Carol believe that Clinton is not competent to protect the information because of her age? I’m of Clinton’s generation and with far fewer resources, and I know that what she did was reckless, careless and just plain stupid. Age is not an acceptable reason for her actions.

Carol defends HRC by arguing that she was doing what she did as a senator. Carol, our lives and roles change all the time, the requirements of those roles change. Is Clinton not able to keep up with those changes?

There are a lot of candidates out there for president. Surely we can elect someone who has not been so deceptive and dishonest while holding office and representing the U.S.
