Spokane ship rudderless

I am a resident of Spokane Valley, but feel compelled to comment on the latest undertaking by the Spokane City Council. The council cannot come to a resolution of the firing and potential cover-up that followed of the former police chief. Next, they cannot figure out the mess that’s been created in the hiring of a new police chief.

The repair of the streets seems to be an issue that will never be resolved. How proud are each of the readers in the condition of the streets downtown, the supposed centerpiece of Spokane?

But the council does have the time to consider renaming a national holiday. I’m certainly not opposed to having a holiday for indigenous people — they deserve one. But is this really at the top of the council’s priority list?

It’s no small wonder that the city of Spokane ship seems rudderless. And, by the way, the city of Spokane Valley Council isn’t any better.
