Health care anxiety

How do 217 Congress members, including our own Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, call themselves Christians after they voted to take health care away from 23 million Americans, including 700,000 which live in the state of Washington?

I have paid for insurance my entire life. Now as a breast cancer survivor, I can be cancelled or charged premiums that will cost as much as I make a year working full time. As a health insurance broker, I will be going into the food banks and low-income housing and have to answer their questions, the questions Rep. McMorris Rodgers should answer since she is the one who took away the federal funding of their Apple Health.

My Affordable Care Act clients are calling to find out how this repeal affects their coverage. Like me, they are over 50, so insurance companies could charge them nearly double, and like me, many of them have pre-existing conditions and could be denied coverage or end up in expensive high-risk pools. These are working and middle class people who work 40 hours a week plus! They have earned that subsidy or tax credit.

What will this Congress and president do to Medicare? God save America!
