Listen to those who know

The Nov. 25 S-R contained a summary of the recently released global climate change report, and comments from usual climate change deniers. I freely admit I’m not a climate scientist, however, in formulating my opinion of what needs to be done, I’m going to consider the findings of those people who have studied the subject.

What I don’t understand is why so many people listen to people who obviously have no qualifications in the subject. If you had a severe pain in your abdomen, would you call Donald Trump of Sarah Huckabee-Sanders for help? If you car stalled on a freezing mountain pass, would you call Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity? Certainly you’d want someone who’d actually studied medicine or mechanics to help.

So when the subject is climate, why should anyone listen to people with no scientific training? Hopefully the S-R and other publications will continue to report the findings of scientists and people will eventually be concerned enough to vote into power leaders who are willing to lead this country in the right direction - before it’s too late.
