Changes to the Joe Albi Stadium are inevitable in the current political climate.

The Advisory Vote Regarding Location of a Proposed Stadium has two choices: keep Albi Stadium where it is or demolish Albi Stadium and build a smaller stadium (5,000 seats) downtown.

The Spokesman-Review 10/21/2018 article made a good argument for the downtown location. It also revealed a long-term plan to make the current location obsolete by reducing the parking capacity and making Albi Stadium unusable. Radio spots boast of the downtown location.

Google “stadium 5000 seats” to see how small such stadiums are. About 9,000 people attended the WSU Crimson and Gray football game at Albi in 2017 and around 6,000 for 2018. We need a 10,000+ seat football/soccer stadium but we are not getting one.

The powers that be narrowly defined options. Maintenance is not cheap but costs less than demolition.

The downtown site will benefit the city, sports organizations and the merchants but not necessarily benefit the children of Spokane. The current site seems more suitable to the needs of our children. I voted to keep Albi where it is.
