Ual Corp. Reports $3 Million Profit

Chicago Cost reductions helped United Airlines’ parent company eke out a $3 million first-quarter profit, the company said Tuesday.

The $3 million in earnings compared with a loss of $97 million a year earlier, when results included $38 million in special charges.

UAL Corp.’s first quarter 1995 results included a $24 million gain from aircraft sales.
