Defendant’s Relatives Attack Jurors

Associated Press

Several relatives of a man just convicted of murder chased three of the jurors and tried to run them down, police said.

Some of the jurors took shelter in a car as Marlon Edwards’ family beat on its side.

The relatives left when bailiffs and deputies came out of the courthouse in this city about 30 miles south of Fresno. No arrests were made.

The jurors were not seriously injured in Thursday’s attack, which came half an hour after Edwards, 20, was convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Antonio Telles.
