Landlord Sues Operation Rescue

Compiled From Wire Services

The landlord who leased an office next to an abortion clinic to the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue filed a petition for eviction on Monday.

The lawsuit claims LifeChoices Inc., headquarters for Operation Rescue, hasn’t paid $3,300 in rent and is in default of its lease. LifeChoices is located next door to A Choice For Women.

The Rev. Philip “Flip” Benham, the fundamentalist preacher who leads Operation Rescue, said landlord Warren A. Gilbert Jr. had agreed to let his group stay rent-free.

However, letters Gilbert wrote to LifeChoices filed with the eviction petition dispute Benham’s assertions.
