Spokane Man Held In Shooting

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 19-year-old suspect is being held in connection with the shooting of a man outside a North Monroe apartment building last week.

David T. Marshall Jr., 1509 N. Wall, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree assault, police said. He was being held late Thursday on $100,000 bail at the Spokane County Jail.

The 33-year-old victim, Alexander Lopez, underwent surgery at Deaconess Medical Center for gunshot wounds and had been in critical condition after the Nov. 21 shooting. Lopez was in good condition Thursday, police said.

He was found in front of the apartments at 1221 N. Monroe about 11:30 p.m. Detectives aren’t sure what led to the shooting.

The victim and suspect are giving conflicting stories, police said.
