Needle Used To Stab Girl Free Of Fluids
A needle used by an escaped mental patient to stab a 6-year-old girl on a subway train appeared to be free of blood or other body fluids that can transmit the AIDS virus, prosecutors said Thursday.
Collete Lopez was attacked while traveling last weekend with her mother and sister.
Collete underwent blood tests Tuesday; however, in most cases, blood tests don’t detect the AIDS virus until three months to a year after exposure.
