Regulators Approve Wwp Rate Cut

From Staff And Wire Reports

Washington regulators Wednesday approved an 11.6 percent rollback of Washington Water Power Co. natural gas rates.

The reduction takes effect Dec. 22.

An average homeowner will pay $4.43 less per month as a result of the action by the state Utilities and Transportation Commission.

The decrease reflects lower prices WWP has paid natural gas suppliers this year, and also anticipates further savings in 1996.

A request for a 16.33 percent rate cut for WWP customers in North Idaho is pending before regulators in that state. A ruling is expected Dec. 18.
