Horizon’s Canadian Workers Settle Strike

Compiled From Wire Services

Striking Horizon Air workers in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia, have voted 80 percent in favor of a new two-year contract.

The 60 workers, members of the Canadian Auto Workers union, have been off the job since Sept. 9.

The new deal includes a $1.60-an-hour wage increase, better benefits and signing bonuses ranging from $200 to $1,000.

The workers, primarily ramp and counter employees, went on strike citing job security as the main issue. The last contract expired July 10.
