More Rain And Snow

Associated Press

A Pacific cold front brought rain and mountain snow to northern California and points north Friday while winter weather kept its grip on the upper Midwest.

Four to 8 inches of snow was on the ground at Lakeview, Ore., by early afternoon.

Crescent City, Calif., had gotten nearly 3 inches of rain from midnight to early afternoon, and flooding threatened the San Francisco Bay area after the storm earlier this week that shook skyscrapers, washed out roads and cut power to hundreds of thousands of customers.

Icy roads slowed the morning commute around Boston and school systems throughout the state delayed the start of classes.
