Grenades Blow Up, Killing 8 Russians

Compiled From Wire Services

Eight people were killed when grenades being defused accidentally exploded at a weapons testing site in Russia’s Far East.

Interior Ministry spokesman Vasily Panchenkov said the accident occurred Wednesday when specialists were disarming about 200 obsolete stun grenades at a weapons testing ground near Khabarovsk.

“The sappers just broke the rules of security,” Panchenkov said. “Everyone was burned alive.”
