Seminar On War Slaves May Bring Koreans Together
A forum on World War II sex slaves may provide the first contact between North and South Korea since 1993.
Kim Deok, South Korea’s unification minister, told the National Assembly on Wednesday that Seoul has approved a plan to let northern delegates attend the Seoul conference, scheduled Feb. 27 to March 1.
Historians estimate as many as 200,000 Korean women were forced into sexual servitude at front-line brothels for Japanese troops during World War II.
