Hardaway Has Surgery

Compiled From Wire Services

Doctors repaired a ligament in the left wrist of Golden State Warriors point guard Tim Hardaway.

Hardaway, who leads the team in points and is the only player to start every game this season, will be out for the remainder of the year, the team said.

His wrist and arm will be in a cast for eight weeks, followed by an intensive rehabilitation program. Hardaway, 28, is expected to fully recover before the 1995-96 training camp.

Hardaway, who missed the 1993-94 season with a torn knee ligament, has averaged 20.1 points and is third in the NBA in assists with a 9.3 average.
