Three games down, and neither North Carolina nor Kentucky have sweated through a tight finish.

The Tar Heels advanced to the Southeast Regional final with a relatively easy 74-64 victory over Georgetown on Thursday night at Birmingham, Ala. Kentucky thundered Arizona State, scoring 15 straight points in a 97-73 victory in the Southeast.

Rasheed Wallace, whose sprained left ankle limited him to 46 minutes in the first two games of the tournament for North Carolina, finished with 22 points - including 20 in the second half.

In Thursday’s other highlights:

Ed O’Bannon’s 21 points led UCLA to its 16th straight victory, 86-67 over Mississippi State in the West.

Donny Marshall had 27 points to lead Connecticut to a 99-89 win over Maryland, setting up a West final against UCLA.
