Wounded Man Not Talking

Compiled From Wire Services

A 23-year-old man who was shot Wednesday in east Spokane isn’t cooperating with police and refuses to discuss the assault.

The victim was shot in his leg and buttocks. He was listed in stable condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center late Thursday.

A woman walking with the victim at Fourth and Ray told police shots were fired without warning shortly before 9 p.m. She told police the victim’s name was Roy Cooper, but detectives later determined that was wrong.

The victim’s true identity was not made available by police.
