Postal Carriers Set Record In Food Drive

Spokane postal carriers collected a one-day record of 200,000 pounds of food during an annual food drive last week.

The food will produce about 160,000 meals for the hungry, according to the Spokane Food Bank.

Washington residents donated nearly 1 million pounds. Nationally, post offices and letter carriers collected more than 34 million pounds of food.
