Compiled From Wire Services

Pope John Paul II will visit Venezuela from Feb. 9 to 11, Catholic Church officials said Tuesday.

The pope will celebrate Masses at La Carlota airport in central Caracas and at the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Coromoto in Guanare, 260 miles southwest of Caracas, said the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference.

The pope is scheduled to visit Central America before coming to Venezuela, which will be his last stop in Latin America before returning to Rome, a conference spokesman said.
