Police Say Woman Took Cab To Rob Bank

From Staff Reports

Spokane police arrested a woman and charged her with robbing a north Spokane bank Saturday afternoon.

Police say the woman robbed the bank while a cab she took to the bank waited outside. She then fled from the scene in the cab.

Officials at Washington Trust Bank, 1906 W. Francis, told police a woman walked into the bank about 1:30 p.m., showed a teller what looked like the handle of a handgun and demanded money.

The teller gave the woman the money.

Police and FBI agents traced the cab to a house in the 6200 block of North Adams. They surrounded the house and arrested 32-year-old Daphne E. Cole without incident.

Cole was booked into Spokane County Jail and charged with first-degree robbery.
