Michael Dickerson had a hand in seven straight points and made a crowd-quieting 3-pointer as Arizona beat 16th-ranked Arkansas 83-73 Friday night in Fayetteville, Ark., and advanced to the semifinals of the Preseason NIT.

The Razorbacks couldn’t overcome horrendous first-half shooting that included missing 29 of their first 37 shots.

Down the stretch, Arizona (2-0) had little trouble getting easy shots for Joseph Blair and others. During that time, Arkansas (1-1) misplayed two fast-break opportunities and threw up some wild shots.

At Ann Arbor, Mich., freshman Louis Bullock scored 14 points as the Wolverines (2-0) defeated the WIldcats (1-1) in a Preseason NIT second-round game. Maurice Taylor and Jerod Ward each had 13 points for the Wolverines.

The taller, more athletic Wolver ines had the Wildcats in foul trouble early. Weber State was called for 13 personal fouls in the first 20 minutes and the Wolverines connected on 9 of 15 free throws while building their 47-28 halftime edge.

The Wolverines led by as many as 24 points in the second half.
