O’Keeffe House Tours

Barbara Ann Curcio Special To The Washington Post

Artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s house in Abiquiu, N.M., is now open for tours year-round, weather permitting.

The rambling adobe house and studio, where she lived from 1949 to 1984 and painted some of her most famous pictures, is much as she left it when she moved to Santa Fe. (O’Keeffe died in 1986.)

The one-hour tour of the interior, by appointment only (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), is limited to groups of six and is $15 per person; a tour of the grounds is also given once weekly (also $15 a person).

Tours are already booked through November and reservations are suggested.

The house is about 50 miles northwest of Santa Fe. Information: (505) 685-4539.
