Teen’s Accused Rapitst Arrested In Atlanta

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man accused of raping the 15-year-old daughter of a Seattle police captain has been arrested by FBI agents in Atlanta.

Dale Robertson Mitchell, 32, was taken into custody Tuesday night at a Greyhound bus depot. Authorities will now seek his extradition to Seattle.

Mitchell was charged last week by King County prosecutors with first-degree burglary, and the rape of the daughter of police Capt. Toni McWashington.

Mitchell, who has previous convictions for robbery, burglary and theft, was released May 21 from the Airway Heights Correctional Center near Spokane.

Police said the Sept. 21 break-in at McWashington’s home appears to be a random act and not associated with her police work.

Prosecutors allege Mitchell broke into the McWashington home, where he found the teenager asleep and alone. He is accused of taking some jewelry, then forcing the girl into the trunk of his car and driving to a motel, where he raped her.
