Valley Woman Awakened By Burglar

From Staff Reports

A Spokane Valley woman was awakened early Saturday by a teenage burglar in the bedroom of her apartment.

The 35-year-old woman told Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies that she heard a noise at 5:05 a.m. and saw the teen standing at the foot of the bed.

When the burglar noticed the woman was awake, he ran from the room and out the front door of the apartment at 8012 E. Cataldo.

The woman was missing her checkbook and the keys to a rented, white 1995 Geo Metro. The car was also missing.

Deputies discovered the car abandoned at the corner of Grace and Bessie.

The car was not occupied, but the motor was running and the right side was damaged.

The woman described the burglar as white and about 15-years-old.

Deputies believe he got into the house through a sliding window. , DataTimes
