Dead Newborn Found In Plane’s Toilet Tank

Compiled From Wire Services

Airport ground crews found the body of a newborn baby girl early Friday in the restroom of a passenger jet that landed at Bradley International Airport.

The Delta Airlines plane had arrived Thursday evening from Atlanta, state police Sgt. Dale Hourigan said. The body was not visible to passengers or flight attendants.

“After landing up in Connecticut, we had a report that one of the lavatories was malfunctioning,” said Delta spokesman Bill Berry in Atlanta. “The Delta mechanic tried … to find out what the cause was. He discovered what he said was a fetus in the lavatory hold tank.”

The baby, a white female, still had her umbilical cord attached.
