Compiled From Wire Services

Winalota Cash, with a late kick and a hand ride, caught previously undefeated filly Shake The Bank to win the 37th running of the $1.6 million All American Futurity.

The bay gelding, ridden by Billy Peterson and owned by Jamie and Andra Meridyth of Odessa, Texas, broke third behind Shake The Bank and Fishers Dash in the 440-yard sprint.

Winalota Cash, who has five victories and four seconds in nine starts, earned $921,465.07. That boosts his earnings for his first year of racing to more than $1.5 million.

His winning time of 21.18 seconds was the fastest ever for 440 yards in the 37-history of the futurity that is quarter horse racing’s richest race.
