Toll-Free Calling In Stevens County

Toll-free calling among the Colville-Kettle Falls, Northport and Chewelah telephone exchanges will begin Sept. 23.

The service expansion, approved Wednesday by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, will cause increases in basic rates for all three exchanges.

In Colville, rates will go up 10 cents a month for residences, to $9.40, and 15 cents for businesses, to $19.30.

Northport rates will rise 75 cents for residences, to $9.50, and $1 for businesses, to $19.40.

Residential rates will $1.50 a month in Chewelah, to $13.90, and $3 for businesses, to $27.80. , DataTimes
