Man Faints At Sentencing

From Staff And Wire Reports

An adult bookstore manager passed out in court Friday after a District Court judge sent him to jail for a probation violation.

Rob Walton, 23, was sentenced to 45 days for failing to attend an alcohol treatment program, which was required when he was sentenced for a drunken driving conviction last year.

The Spokane man was found guilty this week of hiring a 16-year-old girl to dance nude at Pretty Girls Exotic Dancers, part of the East Sprague Adult Bookstore that he manages. A city ordinance forbids minors from being in adult arcades.

Walton faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for that crime when he is sentenced May 10.

When Judge Daniel Maggs ordered him to jail Friday, Walton fainted and fell to the floor. He came to about five minutes later, witnesses said.
