Compiled From Wire Services

Swedish pharmaceutical giant Astra has suspended the head of its American subsidiary, Astra USA Inc., after at least one company employee accused him of sexual harassment.

An independent counsel will investigate claims against Lars Bildman, chief executive officer and president, that include sexual harassment and “other activities considered inappropriate by the company,” Astra said in a statement Monday.

Astra provided no further details. But Michael Olsson, manager of investor relations, said sexual harassment accusations are the main concern.
