Darren Erath threw for three touchdowns to lead Western Washington past Findlay 28-21 Saturday in the NAIA Division II football semifinals in Findlay, Ohio.

Ryan Wiggins’ 2-yard run with 49 seconds left in the third quarter provided the winning margin for Western.

Erath was 27 of 35 for 243 yards. Erik Morin caught five passes for 146 yards and Wiggins rushed for 139 yards on 36 carries.

NCAA Div. II championship

At Florence, Ala., Michael Schauer tied a title-game record with three field goals and Billy Holmes ran for 136 yards and a touchdown as Northern Colorado (12-3) won its first Division II title with a 23-14 victory over Carson-Newman.

NCAA Div. III championship

At Salem, Va., Bill Borchert threw for 505 yards and seven touchdowns as Mount Union finished a perfect season with a 56-24 victory over Rowan in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.
