Things Go Better With Fei Yang

Associated Press

Coca-Cola plans to tempt American teens soon with its new caffeine-rich drink Surge, but it’s got another treat for the young in Taiwan - Fei Yang.

Translated as “Flying High,” Fei Yang is Coca-Cola’s new brand of fruit and tea drinks designed specifically for Taiwan’s market.

“Tea and fruit juices are an important sector of Taiwan’s soft drink market,” said Chris Jacobi, vice president and director of marketing for Coca-Cola China Ltd. “We are now providing consumers with an exciting additional range of choices.”

Fei Yang’s teas have iron buddha leaves and jasmine. The fruit juice flavors include lemon sugarcane and guava.

Coca-Cola announced earlier this month a brash new move to go after Pepsi’s Mountain Dew with its own caffeine-laden drink. The Atlanta-based soft drink giant has more than a 95-percent share of Taiwan’s cola market.
