Student Accused Of Putting Burning Textbook In Locker

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 15-year-old Deer Park High School student was charged with arson Wednesday after he set a textbook on fire and shoved it in a locker, authorities said.

No injuries were reported and the 10:30 a.m. blaze was quickly extinguished by a custodian, said assistant principal Mike Blair.

“This could’ve been serious if no one was around,” Blair said.

The boy, who lives in Loon Lake, was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of first-degree arson. , DataTimes
