Woody Austin, a workaholic golfer who won Rookie of the Year honors last season, shot a 4-under-par 67 to take a one-stroke lead halfway through the Phoenix Open.

On a cool, windy day at the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale, Austin finished with a two-round total of 10-under 132, a shot ahead of Jesper Parnevik, who had a 66.
