Driver Crashes Into Airport Hangar

From Staff And Wire Reports

A driver crashed into a Colville Airport hangar early Thursday causing nearly $200,000 in damage.

Washington State Patrol officials believe alcohol played a role in the 1 a.m. accident.

Kevin J. Swaim, 26, of Colville lost control of his 1968 Pontiac when he tried turning onto state Highway 20 from Aladdin Road at high speed, the state patrol said.

The car instead rammed into the hangar, damaging the building and aircraft parts.

Swaim suffered a fractured left ankle and jaw, the state patrol said. His two passengers suffered minor injuries.

None of the three wore seat belts, according to the state patrol.
