Poll: Let Diana Be A ‘Royal Highness’

Compiled From Wire Services

Half the British public thinks Princess Diana should remain a “royal highness” after divorcing Prince Charles, according to a poll published Thursday.

Under her agreement with Prince Charles, Diana will be known as Diana, Princess of Wales, but will not be called “her royal highness.” That is a symbolic demotion from the elite of the royal family.

Fifty-one percent of respondents in a poll commissioned by the Daily Mirror thought Diana should remain a royal highness, 26 percent said no and 23 percent had no opinion.
