Ice Cream Truck Driver Chills Robbery Attempt

From Staff Reports

Three teenagers tried Thursday to rob an ice cream man who kept his cool and got away from the robbers.

The 19-year-old ice cream truck driver said three young boys approached him at Eighth and Napa about 6 p.m. and demanded money. One boy grabbed the driver and hit him in the face.

The driver hit back and knocked one boy to the ground, police said. He then drove away.

Police have no suspects but describe the primary assailant as white, about 16 to 18 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing a Dallas Cowboys football jersey and blue pants.

The driver suffered a bruised lip but did not require treatment. , DataTimes
