Police Wondering If Holdups Related

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are looking into whether a movie theater robbery is related to a string of recent holdups in Kootenai County.

A robber arrived at Coeur d’Alene Cinemas on Government Way about 8:20 p.m. Friday, police said.

He pointed a short-barreled .38-caliber revolver at the cashier in the ticket booth and demanded money.

Before leaving with the cash, the robber said, “Sorry to scare you.”

Four Kootenai County businesses have been robbed so far this year, including two Tidyman’s stores held up Thursday night.

The robber in the movie theater holdup is described as a white male between 25 and 30 years old, about 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He was wearing a black corduroy jacket with gray buttons, black jeans, a nylon stocking over his face and a green “Gonja” hat.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320.
