Michigan State Faces Lawsuit

Compiled From Wire Services

Michigan State is being sued by three media outlets that contend the school should make public an NCAA letter of inquiry into possible rule violations by the football team.

The Lansing State Journal, WILX-TV and WLNS-TV contend in their lawsuit, filed Thursday in Ingham County Court, that the letter should have been released last week, based on timelines established by the Freedom of Information Act.

The university contends release of the document could harm its internal investigation and response to the NCAA inquiry. The university said it will release the document after its own response is complete.
