Man Held In Prostitute Attack

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 30-year-old Coeur d’Alene man was arrested Friday on charges he attacked a prostitute.

Rick N. Carter was charged Monday with aggravated battery.

The victim, a 22-year-old Post Falls woman, told Kootenai County sheriff’s investigators she met Carter at a bar Friday.

She and Carter worked out a deal in which she would have sex with him for $100, according to the sheriff’s report.

Once they arrived at the woman’s Post Falls residence, Carter told her he didn’t have the money. Carter started making sexual advances anyway and the woman began fighting him off, according to the report.

Carter then grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter and raped the woman, cutting her on the arm and chest as she struggled, according to the report.

The woman told police she escaped after convincing Carter she would willingly have sex with him if he stopped attacking her and took a shower.

He is being held at the Kootenai County Jail on $2,000 bail. , DataTimes MEMO: Idaho headline: CdA man arrested on battery charges
