Contest Winning Photo Will Be On Phone Book

Richard Chirichillo of Bonners Ferry won the Cover Photo Contest for the 1996-97 North Idaho Phone Book published by Hagadone Directories.

Chirichillo’s photo will appear on more than 90,000 phone books and he received a $500 vacation package to the Coeur d’Alene Resort on the Lake. The contest was open to amateur and professional photographers from the directory coverage area.

Sandpoint High School’s Monticola year book staff members recently won recognition at the JEA National Convention in San Francisco. Cory Meyers won an honorable mention in yearbook photography, and Mitchell Green, won an honorable mention for copyreading and review writing.

The student newspaper, The Cedar Post, won 18 awards at the Idaho Press Women State Convention and received the Sweepstakes Award for the third consecutive year in a row for earning the most points in the competition.

Pamela Kammeyer has been named by her peers as Best Western Templin’s Resort’s Employee of the Month for April.

Kammeyer was hired at the resort in August of 1994 as a catering secretary and has since been promoted to catering coordinator. She was nominated because she is a hard worker, loyal, dependable, willing to help, friendly, happy and dedicated and customer oriented.

Army Sgt. Matthew M. Yetter,a 1986 graduate of Rathdrum High School, has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal.

Yetter, a power generation repairman at Fort Hood, Texas, and son of Marie Ulbright of Athol, received the award for demonstrating outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of his duties on behalf of the Army.

Donald Ebert has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant in the Air Force.

Ebert, son of Ron Ebert of Coeur d’Alene, serves as a bioenvironmental engineering superintendent at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

Angela D. Roberts, a senior at Lewiston High School, has enlisted in the Army’s Delayed Entry Program as a member of the military police.

Roberts, daughter of Annette R. Williams of Athol and Daniel Roberts of Lewiston, will depart for basic training at Fort McClellan, Ala., in July.
