Man Sentenced For Sexual Assault

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 26-year-old Plummer man was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison for sexually molesting a relative.

Federal Judge Edward Lodge sentenced George T. Daniels, who had previously pleaded guilty to “abusive sexual contact.”

The sentencing was in Moscow.

In March, according to U.S. Attorney Betty Richardson, Daniels admitted that on Sept. 11, 1995, he was drinking heavily with a female relative.

The crime to which Daniels pleaded guilty occurred after the relative, intoxicated, went to her bedroom and passed out. Daniels admitted that he entered her room and engaged in sexual contact with her while she was unconscious.

Upon his release from prison, Richardson said, Daniels will be required to spend 12 months on “supervised release,” complete 100 hours of community service, and obtain counseling for sexual deviancy. Judge Lodge also ordered Daniels to pay $975 for counseling for the victim.
