Search Continues For 74-Year-Old

From Staff And Wire Reports

Latah County sheriff’s authorities led a search Monday for a 74-year-old woman who has been missing for three days.

Hazel Martin was last seen Friday night playing cards at a local Grange hall, authorities said.

Police crime-scene tape surrounded Martin’s home Monday as forensics experts searched inside. The woman’s car remained inside her garage.

Authorities used boats and four-wheel-drive vehicles to search local rivers and fields for signs of Martin, who lived alone.

So many people in this rural town volunteered to help search that authorities had to turn some of them away, sheriff’s deputies said.
