Greene, Bi-County Pair Win Way Into Semifinals
State A/B tennis
Josh Greene of Medical Lake and two Bi-County League girls advanced to the semifinals of the State A-B high school tennis tournament this morning at the Spokane Racquet Club.
Greene defeated Todd Furman of Cascade 6-1, 6-0 and Alex Macheras of Blaine 6-1, 3-6, 6-0.
Christine Dickson of Davenport is in the semis off a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mimi Miller of Friday Harbor and a 6-2, 6-3 win over Robin Anders of Pateros.
Marci Smith of Odessa moved on with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Liana Pearce of Wilson Creek and a 3-6, 7-6, 6-2 win over Natalie Harvey of Columbia-Burbank.
Dave Dillingham of Lakeside won his first-round match, but lost his next two, as did Bettie Rott of Lind.
In doubles, the only Northeast A League entry still playing is the Odessa twosome of Angela Ramm and Loni Watters, who won in the first round, lost in the quarterfinals and won in the consolation round.
All the tennis action today is at Spokane Racquet Club, 1903 S. Dearborn.
