Rider Cited For Marijuana

Compiled From Wire Services

Portland Trail Blazers guard Isaiah Rider, already arrested twice this year in Oakland, Calif., on marijuana charges, was cited Wednesday night in Portland for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Two sheriff’s deputies saw two cars stop in a dark spot and turn off their lights late Wednesday night along Oregon highway 43 in Lake Oswego, Clackamas County sheriff’s spokesman Damon Coates said.

The deputies spotted Rider in the back seat of one of the cars, getting ready to smoke a “dope pipe” fashioned from a Coca-Cola can, Coates said.

Center Rony Seikaly, the subject of trade rumors, was placed on the suspended list as the Golden State Warriors cut their roster to 12 players.

The Denver Nuggets set their 12-man roster by placing two players on injured reserve and suspending rookie guard Jeff McInnis for conduct harmful to the team.
