School Fund-Raiser Moved Indoors

From Staff And Wire Reports

No cows will cross - or sully - Lake City High’s football field today to raise money for the school library.

School librarian Bill Kinder had to move the fund-raiser indoors after rain softened the field so much that roaming cows may sink in and damage it. Kinder had divided the field into yard-wide squares on paper and charged people $2 each to guess on which square his cow would relieve herself at 1:30 p.m. today.

Instead, Kinder will put the names of all the buyers in a hat and draw the winner at 1:30 p.m. today in the school commons. He will sell tickets right up to the drawing. The winning ticket is worth $1,000.
